Personnel from the National Guard are conducting proximity and security patrols in the Monte Albán archaeological zone in Oaxaca, as part of the Government of Mexico’s National Security Strategy.

The National Guard reported that its members carry out guidance and assistance tasks for both national and foreign tourists, providing recommendations on the care and preservation of Mexico’s historical heritage.

Personnel also engage in community outreach activities with visitors and staff of the Site Museum to learn about their security needs.
